ECSRC PLAYDAYS & SHOWS IN 2004:
The ECSRC will be holding six (6) Open Playdays and four (4) Open Horse Shows in 2004.
ECSRC Year-end Awards in 2004
We will be awarding a High Point and a Reserve High Point award in each age group at the Playdays
and the Horse Shows.
This year our High Point and Reserve awards will
be gift certificates to various Enid businesses:
High Point will receive a $10.00 gift certificate.
Reserve will receive a $5.00 gift certificate.
(Some examples of gift certificates are: Mazzio's, Hastings, Simpson's, Way Out West, Corral West, etc...  These are just some examples...
we have not yet purchased any certificates).

You do not have to be an ECSRC member to win High Point or Reserve. However, if you are interested in going for a Year-end award you MUST be an ECSRC member.
To qualify for the ECSRC Year-end Awards in 2004,
you MUST:
1) Be an ECSRC member
2) Pay a one-time nomination fee of $10.00
(Anyone who wishes to go for Year-end Awards in both
Playdays and Horse Shows must pay the $10.00 fee
for each one - for a total of $20.00 nomination fee).
For Playdays: You must compete in 4 out of 6 Playdays.
You must compete in all 4 of the Playday events.
2004 Playday events are: Barrels, Poles, Stakes & Bowtie.
For Horse Shows: You must compete in 3 out of 4 Shows.
You must compete in any 4 of the 7 point
                             classes at each Show.
The 7 point classes are: Showmanship at Halter, Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, Trail, English Pleasure, English Equitation and Hunter Hack.

Points will not be counted until you
have paid your nomination fee(s)!
You will keep the points you earn at each Playday and/or Horse Show and they will be accumulated throughout the year.
Playday points will be kept seperate from the Show points.
AGE DIVISIONS in 2004
The Playday and Show age groups have been changed back to the way they've always been, with a few exceptions.

Age Divisions in Playdays:

Peanut - 8 & under
Buckaroos - 9 to 12
Junior - 13 to 16
Adult - 17 & over (men & women)
40 & Over (men & Women)

Age Divisions in Horse Shows:

Beginner - 8 & under
Junior - 9 to 13
Senior - 14 to 18
Adult - 19 & over
Novice - Anyone/any age that has not competed in more than 5 Shows prior to Jan. 1, 2004

Anyone who competes in Novice must only compete in Novice at any one Show. They cannot also compete in their respective age division. Once you choose which you are going to compete in, you must stay in that division throughout the year if going for Year-end Awards.
NOTE: EVERYONE who qualifies for Year-end Awards by paying their nomination fee and competing in their appropriate number of classes and events WILL receive an award!
No matter how many points they've earned, even if they never earn any points at all.
If you qualify... you win!!!
Year-end prizes/awards can NOT be determind until the end of the year... We have to see how much money the Club has to spend before we can say what the prizes will be.
BUT... We will give everyone a "choice" of prizes/awards.
English classes will count for High Point at the Horse Shows in 2004. The English classes will be divided into these age divisions: 8 & Under (walk-trot only), 9 to 13 and 14 & Over. Any points earned in the english classes will be awarded to their appropriate age division.
Also new... We have added a "NIGHT" Horse Show to the 2004 ECSRC Season. It is scheduled for Agust 7th and will start at 5pm. It will count as one of the qualifying Shows.
To be fair to everyone... the first three Playdays have been changed to saturday nights, each starting at 5pm. Please see the Club Calendar on Page 1 for the correct dates. The Fall Playdays will remain as scheduled, on friday nights at 7pm.
The Playday events this year will be: Barrels, Poles, Stakes and Bowtie. These will be the events for all age divisions. Patterns are posted below...on this website page,
or you can pick up a copy at our meetings.
Our next meeting is monday, March 8th.
